Face Masks and Respirators

Face masks and Respirators are designed for specific purposes from medical to non-medical.  They can either protect the wearer from external issues or protect others from the wearer.  The surgical style mask or respirators with or without valves all have their respective purposes.

Inspira sources meltblown filtered disposable options, clinically demonstrated to be consistently more reliable and more effective than the alternative softbound filters.  While softbound filters may be a low cost option and more readily available, they remain an unreliable consistent risk that Inspira has chosen to avoid.

Can Face Masks or Respirators help slow the spread of the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?

Yes!  Face Masks and Respirators, combined with other preventive measures, such as vaccination, frequent hand-washing, and physical distancing, can all help slow the spread of bacteria and viruses such as COVID-19.

Masking is a critical public health tool for preventing the spread of viruses such as COVID-19. It is important to remember that any mask is better than no mask however, choosing the best mask can only offer better protection than non-filtered cloth masks.

To protect yourself and others from COVID-19, the government recommends that you wear the most protective mask.

Masks and respirators are effective at reducing
transmission of bacteria causing viruses
including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that
causes COVID-19 when worn consistently and correctly.

Some masks and respirators offer higher levels of
protection than others, and some may be harder to tolerate or wear consistently
than others.

It is more important to wear a well-fitting mask or
respirator correctly than for comfort - essential to provide good protection.

While all masks and respirators provide various levels of
protection, a properly fitted appropriate respirator will provide the
optimal level of protection.
